Choosing New Cabinets
Custom kitchen cabinets are built to your room, which makes the most of odd corners, tall ceilings, and walls that are not quite straight. Semi-custom lines give you many sizes and finishes with shorter lead times. Stock cabinets are the fastest and most affordable, and they work well in square rooms with standard dimensions.
Cabinet replacement also opens the door to features older boxes cannot take: full-extension drawers instead of base doors, a tall pantry wall, deeper uppers, appliance garages, and an island with seating.
Construction matters as much as style. Plywood boxes hold screws well and resist moisture better than particleboard, dovetailed or well-joined drawer boxes last longer than stapled ones, and full-extension slides let you reach the back of every drawer. We walk you through the differences between lines so you know what you are paying for.
Finish is the last decision. Painted doors show a crisp color but can chip at the edges over time; stained wood hides wear and shows grain; thermofoil and laminate faces are easy to clean. We bring door samples so you can see each finish in your own kitchen light before ordering.

Behind the Boxes
Cabinet swaps often uncover or invite other work: a new sink location, island power, under-cabinet lighting, or a relocated range with a new hood. That work is licensed; in California a B-2 Residential Remodeling license does not cover substantial changes to major plumbing or electrical systems. When a permit is needed, we submit through the city’s online Customer Self Service portal and build to the 2025 California Building Standards Code, in effect since January 1, 2026. The hood cabinet is planned around an HVI- or AHAM-certified range hood rated at 100 CFM or more and 3 sones or less.
Once cabinets are set and checked, countertop installation begins with a template. If your current boxes are sound and you like the layout, cabinet refacing can save a lot.
Older walls are rarely flat or square, so we expect to shim and scribe. Taking the time to set a true level line at the start is what lets doors line up across a long run and keeps stone counters from cracking later.
